Sources of information on the secure operation of IT for IT operators / administrators

A lot of general information on the operation of IT is available on the internet.

On this page, the Gauss IT Centre has compiled recommended articles that should be taken into account, especially at the TU Braunschweig, when operating IT services. The links provided here extend the IT instructions for action with up-to-date guidance that should always be consulted.

This list will be updated as we receive further information. If you know of other good information sites, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Please contact the IT Service Desk (telephone: -55555, e-mail: it-service-desk@tu-braunschweig.de).

The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) offers concrete checklists for many products and services for setting up IT services (as part of the Basic Protection Compendium): BSI Basic Protection Checklists

A similar approach to the BSI is offered by the Center for Internet Security (CIS) – called “Benchmarks” – where the main focus is actually on IT security and concrete products: CIS Benchmarks https://www.cisecurity.org/cis-benchmarks/

The IT security-specific instructions of the GITZ should also always be followed:
