Narratives form the basis for scientific discourse by linking arguments and presenting them in argumentation structures. However, the search for such argumentations often turns out to be complicated. Therefore, the Institute for Information Systems (IfIS) has developed a first prototype for querying different scientific information sources. For example, narrative queries can be answered with appropriate scientific literature. A first service based on this prototype is already under development for PubPharm.

In this context, our colleague Hermann Kroll from the Institute for Information Systems presented his current research activities at the Fourth International Workshop on Narrative Extraction from Texts. This took place virtually on 01st April 2021. The presentation “Demonstrating Narrative Bindings: Linking Discourses to Knowledge Repositories” is available as a video for interested parties.
